You can’t forget about Providence’s big blue bug (not really a spider, but really creepy when you are driving on I-95.)

Street view is good. Satellite view is horrible.

I was so excited when I noticed this during my routine use of Google maps! Like Simon said, the satellite quality and coverage is pretty bad for the majority of NZ and some parts are definitely over two years out of date. A lot of the street imaging in Christchurch (my city) seems to have been taken very early in the morning due to a general lack of traffic and people around for a lot of it. I wish Google had informed me when they were going past my house so I could have tidied the hedges a little

The one in Havanna is, if I recall correctly, located in the broad passage way in the middle of this map. However, the resolution is not good enough to actually see it.

There’s also a cast of Louise Bourgeois’s Crouching Spider on Placemark: San Francisco’s Embarcadero / Google Earth. (Satellite view show the previous art installation there, though.)

I guess it should be pointed out that this “something” is the ruins of one of the very first christian churches of Britain. Iona (another island) and Lindisfarne is often considered as the two principal monasteries of early British christianity.
