On this day: Expo67 Closed
Wednesday, 29th October 2014 by Ian Brown
On this day in 1967, Expo67 closed in Montreal. The World's Fair was hugely popular, drawing more than 50 million visitors during the six months it was open. More than 90 pavilions featured exhibits about 62 countries and a general theme of 'Man and the World'. While many exhibits stayed open for several years afterwards, most are now gone. One that remains is the geodesic dome of the former US pavilion, which was designed by Buckminster Fuller, and which is now an environmental museum.
